Will you be my techy-techy one?
Despite the challenges, we ALL remained standing
Before the pandemic took place, learning resources were
already scarce for people below the poverty line, and now they are even scarcer
because of the threat not only to our health but also to our country’s economy
caused by the man-made disaster. COVID-19 has not only robbed us of our liberty
to enjoy fully, but it has also affected our right to access education, for in
today’s world, it is more like a luxury that only those above can afford. Under
these circumstances, our lives became harder and harder until even some of the
students failed or chose to stop studying.
We are forced to rely heavily on technology as the only
thing that can help us move forward and maintain a normal pace of life in the
aftermath of the events. We are not given a choice whether to accept these
conditions or not; we are living like this now since we need to cope with the
changes, good or bad. It's a good thing that technology continues evolving, and
as a result, college students were surprised by how useful it is when it comes to
learning. We are given numerous options for studying apps and virtual
discussion platforms. Apps like
Google Classroom, Zoom, Google Meet, and
Microsoft Teams are a silver lining to our lives as they make it easier for us
to connect and monitor our progress. It serves as a virtual classroom, and it's
a good thing that these are student-friendly apps.
In my opinion, it is essential for a college student to have
an app like
Quizlet, Study Smarter, or any other app that has flashcard options
because it helped me throughout the three years of online classes. Furthermore,
having a digital learning tool like
Canva had a significant impact on my life.
It's been with me for at least two years now, and it witnessed how my scrappy
designs turned into decent ones. It has a lot of templates that I can use to
make my presentation better. Forbye, tracking your activities can be done with
the help of an in-built To-Do app. I use Microsoft To-Do or Excel to keep track
of and organize my upcoming activities. Thus, it has been really challenging to live and study
during this pandemic, as it doesn't only test our survival skills in the
outside world but also our commitment to our studies.
Just always remember that
challenges in remote learning, such as lack of inspiration to continue,
communication and empathy barriers, ineffective apps to your liking, and
limited learning resources, are there to keep us strong and intact for us to
grasp our own success.
